Father's assailants traumatize five kids
Children in car when thugs strike; ringleader at large
The alleged leader of a group of Mamou men who traumatized five children when they broke into the family car and beat their father is the subject of a police search.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Christopher Guilbeau, 31, was at the forefront of a quintet of thugs who got out of their car and busted the glass on the victim’s car in an attempt to reach him.
There were five children in the vehicle, from three months in age to nine years old. The glass caused minor cuts to the children, Captain Keith Dupre said. “The children were traumatized when they saw this happen with their daddy getting hit.”
Family members arrived and helped to diffuse the situation, according to Dupre, before any serious injuries took place. He said it appears this incident stemmed from something that occurred several years ago.
When captured, Guilbeau will face charges of aggravated criminal damage to property, five counts of cruelty to a juvenile and aggravated assault.
Already arrested on the same counts are:
DeQuincy Thibodeaux, 28, 208 Fifth St., Mamou. He also will be charged with one count of simple battery.
Silton “Shocker” Thibodeaux, Jr., 36, 108 Eighth St., Mamou.
Vincent “T-Bone” Thibodeaux, 625 Ninth St., Mamou.
Wilton Jackson, 36, 921 Railroad St., Mamou. -- LSN.
