The lawsuits just keep coming for the City of Ville Platte and the Ville Platte Police Department since the U.S. Department of Justice found regularly arrested and held people in jail without a warrant or probable cause.

The U.S. Department of Justice has been in town making their rounds visiting with the community, the Ville Platte Police Department and the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office.

VMayor Jennifer Vidrine, for the first time, publicly addressed the Department of Justice’s report citing the Ville Platte Police Department for performing illegal investigative holds”at a City Council meeting on Jan. 17.
