On Jan. 28 students from the three Catholic churches in Eunice, St. Mathilda, St. Anthony of Padua, and St. Thomas More, met at St. Mathilda’s Bishop Ceasar Hall for a Youth Retreat.
More than 100 youth were in attendance. Speakers in attendance kept the focus of day on the Beatitudes of Christ.
Rev. Darren Eldridge gave the opening blessing and was available to hear confessions for all attending.
Special speakers for the event were Grace Fontenot, from Justice for All, spoke on defending the unborn, Megan Fontenot spoke on God’s mercy, and City Judge Terry Hoychick, spoke on seeking God’s justice.
Leaders from each church also made presentations explaining the Beatitudes and Christ’s Sermon on the Mount. They included Angie Aguillard, Yolanda Thibodeaux and Judy Young.
The retreat organizers would like to thank all who helped to make the event a success, and a special thanks to Eltra Jordan, Philomena Bernard, Michelle LeJeune, Kerstin Edwards and Lee Edwards.
