Controlled burn on the Cajun Prairie Restoration site

A 2.5 acre plot of the Cajun Prairie Restoration site north of the Union Pacific railroad tracks was subjected to a controlled burn on Tuesday. Biologist and retired LSUE Professor Malcolm Vidrine was present and said the burn helps rid the site of non-native plants and the ash stimulates the deep native roots.
