Marla Zaunbrecher was a student teacher at East Elementary under the guidance of Susan McGee, a third-grade teacher. Zaunbrecher was a 1990 graduate of Eunice High School.
The Eunice News announced it would be acquiring a news press and moving to a new building on La. 13. A photograph announcing the new press included pressman Curt Hebert.
Glendale Elementary students placing in a poster contest for American Education Week were Jeffery Burge, third; Hali Lafleur, second; and Courtney Vidrine, third.
Irving Dancers were Sarah Mosers, Lainey LeDoux, London Dodd, Jeanne Menard, Jenny Norris and Keri Young. They were perform for the 29th Irving Awards and Dance of the Eunice Player’s Theatre.
The Eunice High School dance team was awarded a $1,000 grant from Walmart to clean and beautify picnic areas at the City Lake. In a photo announcing the grant were Pris Nichols, Judy Brown, Amber Olivier, Tracey Veillon, and advisers Carol Rougeau and Darnell Fontenot.
