EHS clothes drive senior project March 11
Eunice High School seniors Timothy Mire, Bhrett Schexneider, Lukas Deculus and Andy Stephens will have a closet collections/clothes senior project drive on Saturday, March 11 from 2-4 p.m. at 941 West Park in Eunice. All donations collected will be given to The Welcome House.

EHS barbecue senior project set March 4
Eunice High School seniors Rance Broussard, Lesslie Edwards, Johnathan Brown, and Jason Bellard will hold a EHS senior project, a barbecue plate lunch sales (chicken or pork) on Saturday, March 4 from 10:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Word Ministries Church parking lot.
A donation of $10 will be accepted, with all proceeds going to St. Jude Research Hospital and ALS.

Miss Eunice Pageant set for May 13
Junior Auxiliary of Eunice will present the 71st annual Miss Eunice/Miss Teen Eunice Pageant, Saturday, May 13 at 6 p.m. at Eunice High School.
Registration for the pageant is $50 and due by April 13. Packets can be picked up and returned to Gossip, Tattletales, and Vogue la Vie.
Miss Teen Eunice age group is 13-15; Miss Eunice is 16-19 years of age.
Applicants must be a resident of Eunice.

Lenten fish dinners on sale every Friday
St. Mathilda Church will have fish dinners on sale every Friday during Lent, beginning March 3 through March 31 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Bishop Ceaser Center.
A donation of $8 is welcomed.

COG host Medicare Outpatient March 8
St. Landry Council on Aging will have speakers on Moon (Medicare Outpatient observation notice) with speakers Judy Doyle, Alice Lewis and Cathy LaCaze on March 8 in Eunice at the Northwest Community Center at 9 a.m.
Judy Doyle will make presentation in Eunice. Alice Lewis will be at the Opelousas Senior Center in Opelousas on Friday, March 9 at 9 a.m. and Krotz Springs on March 13 and Port Barre on March 15.

Free child car seat installation
Free installation of child car safety seats is being offered from 4 to 6 p.m. every Monday at Word Ministries, 1960 W. Laure Ave., Eunice.
The seats will be installed by a nationally certified technicians.

Lenten Day of Reflection is Saturday
There will be a Lenten Day of Reflection retreat at the St. Pius Elementary School in the Monsignor Richard Mouton auditorium in Lafayette from 8:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
Speakers will be Bishop J. Douglas Deshotel, Drs. Sarah Brabant, and Pat Low.
Cost is $25 in advance or $30 at the door, with a light breakfast and lunch provided.

St. Thomas More KC chili supper sale
The St. Thomas More K.C. will have a chili supper fundraiser on March 11 from 5 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at the St. Thomas More social hall.
Tickets are $5 each.
Take out will be done (bring your own pots or bowls) or dine in.

Mardi Gras Masks Murder Mystery set
On Saturday a Governor’s Mardi Gras Ball in Louisiana turns into a a mystery as Opelousas Little Theatre presents “Mardi Gras Masks Murder Mystery Dinner” at the Delta Grand Theatre located at 120 South Market St. in Opelousas.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with dinner and theatre beginning at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets are $25 at can be purchased at Sebastian Dupre’ Fine Jewelry in Opelousas, 337-948-4367 and can also be charged and waiting for you at the doors.
Seating is limited. Tickets purchased at the door will be $35 each.

EHS The Color Run senior project set
Eunice High School seniors Destiny Edwards, Georrein Dupre, Kadryn Lawyer and Alex Antoine will have a Color 4K Run/Walk at 10:30 a.m. March 11 at the EHS Bobcat practice field.
Entry fee is $8 with all proceeds going to La. Hospice & Palliative Care. Water will be provided.

Usher’s Appreciation set March 11
The Greater True Light Baptist Church in Eunice will have its 10th annual Usher’s Appreciation Fellowship program and Usher’s mini-workshop on March 11 with a program starting at 10 a.m.
Invitation goes out to all ushers from surrounding area churches to fellowship. Guest speakers will be Lillian Parker and Catherine Soulaire, officer of Port Arthur Texas City wide union usher.
There will also be an Usher’s Appreciation day and march on Sunday, March 12 during the 8:30 a.m. service.

Eunice Players’ season tickets now available
The Eunice Players’ Theatre is now selling season tickets for the 2017 season.
A season ticket is $30 and allows the holder to see all three shows for the price of two. Season ticket holders are also given the privilege of making a reservation for a seat for a given night and given voting privileges for the Irving Awards as well as a ticket to attend the awards event.
Patrons may have one’s name or business name on the back of the show programs and will receive four tickets for $100. An Angel will receive 6 tickets for $150 and will also have his or her name or business name on the back of every program.
Season tickets are available from any board member or at David’s Hair Ltd. on 2nd Street in Eunice.

ABC senior luncheon set March 21
The Acadian Baptist Center near Richard will host a Senior Adult Luncheon on March 21.
Guest speaker will be Bro. Tom McManus, a retired Missionary to Wales. Music will be provided by Bette Vidrine, harpist.
The luncheon is free of charge, however, there will be a love offering taken.

Saturday program at the Prairie Acadian Cultural Center
Saturday programs at the Prairie Acadian Cultural Center, 250 W. Park Ave., Eunice, are the Explore & Restore craft workshop for kids, from 10 a.m. to noon; Cajun Conversations meets 1 to 2:30 p.m. to learn and practice conversational Cajun French; Music and dancing kicks off at 2:45 p.m. and ends with the cooking demonstration and sampling at 4 p.m. Admission to the center and programs is free.

VFW bingo held Thursdays, Sundays
The VFW Post 8971 holds bingo for the public at 7 p.m. every Thursday and Sunday at the VFW Hall located on U.S. 190 East. All proceeds from Bingo games goes back to the community.
