OLLI French Table discussions Fridays
The subjects for the French Table at LSUE are: Friday, gardening; and March 31, jokes and pranks.
The meetings are open to the public and admission is free. The group meets at the Continuing Education Building, Room 117 from 9 to 10 a.m.

EHS Youth track project March 25
Eunice High School seniors Gunner Fontenot, Jyhrah Johnson, and Jordan Melancon will have a Eunice Strong Youth Track Meet Saturday, at EHS track field from 8 a.m. until noon.
Registration fee is $5 per event, or $15 for three events or more.
The events will include 50m dash, 100m dash, 200m dash, standing long jump and softball throw.
All proceeds will go to benefit financially challenged EHS student’s tuitions.
Two former EHS track stars will be guest speakers at the event.

Lenten fish dinners on sale every Friday
St. Mathilda Church will have fish dinners on sale every Friday during Lent, through March 31 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Bishop Ceaser Center.
A donation of $8 is welcomed.

Community Yard Sale set April 1
The annual Community Yard Sale at North Eunice Baptist will be held Saturday, April 1 from 8 a.m. until noon.
The church is located at 2080 Veteran’s Memorial Hwy., Eunice.
The public is invited to sign-up now for a free booth space.

Free child car seat installation
Free installation of child car safety seats is being offered from 4 to 6 p.m. every Monday at Word Ministries, 1960 W. Laure Ave., Eunice.
The seats will be installed by a nationally certified technicians.

Spring barbecue dinners set April 9
Preparations are now being made for the annual Spring Dinner Sale at St. Mathilda Catholic Church on Sunday, April 9 in the Bishop Caesar Hall from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.
There will be Chicken and Pork Barbecue dinners for $9 each.
Tickets may be purchased by calling the church rectory at 457-3286.

Symphony Orchestra concert April 9
The Eunice Symphony Orchestra will present its spring concert, “Suite Music of the Night”, on Sunday, April 9 at the Liberty Theater. Doors will open at 5 p.m. and the program will start at 6 p.m.
Tickets are $5 with children under 6 Free admission.

Miss Eunice Pageant set for May 13
Junior Auxiliary of Eunice will present the 71st annual Miss Eunice/Miss Teen Eunice Pageant, Saturday, May 13 at 6 p.m. at Eunice High School.
Registration for the pageant is $50 and due by April 13. Packets can be picked up and returned to Gossip, Tattletales, and Vogue la Vie.
Miss Teen Eunice age group is 13-15; Miss Eunice is 16-19 years of age.
Applicants must be a resident of Eunice.

New Zion memorial service set April 9
The New Zion Baptist Church will conduct its annual Memorial service on Sunday, April 9 at 7:30 a.m.
The public is invited to attend. During the service deceased loved ones will be remembered through prayer, praise and reflection.
The pastor of the church is Allen Ben.

ABC women’s retreat set April 21-22
Acadian Baptist Center near Richard will host its annual women’s retreat April 21 and April 22.
The retreat will be led by Kathy Nelson, author, speaker, and bible teacher at Speak It Ministries.
During the retreat women will learn how to find contentment by experiencing God’s presence in their lives.
Katy James of Ridgeland, Mississippi will lead ladies in worship. In addition, break-out sessions covering topics of interest to women will be offered.

Saturday program at the Prairie Acadian Cultural Center
Saturday programs at the Prairie Acadian Cultural Center, 250 W. Park Ave., Eunice, are the Explore & Restore craft workshop for kids, from 10 a.m. to noon; Cajun Conversations meets 1 to 2:30 p.m. to learn and practice conversational Cajun French; Music and dancing kicks off at 2:45 p.m. and ends with the cooking demonstration and sampling at 4 p.m. Admission to the center and programs is free.
