The St. Landry BBQ Festival opens for its final day today at 10 a.m. at the Yambilee grounds, 1939 W. Landry St., Opelousas.
Activities are to include carnival rides, petting zoo, local bands and food.
The BBQ cooks began at 8 a.m. aiming for judging at about 11:30 a.m., according to Parish President Jessie Bellard.
As of Friday there were 15 entries into the contest, he said.
