Sales tax revenues in Eunice and the total for St. Landry Parish declined in November by several measures.
Eunice sales tax revenues from January to November totaled $4,823,023, which is 0.7 percent or $31,733 below the same period in 2015, according to the St. Landry Parish School Board Sales Tax Division.
Total St. Landry Parish’s sales tax revenue through November was $59,981,119, down 1.8 percent or $1,099,505 from the same period in 2015.
The parish sales tax total includes parish, school, solid waste, law enforcement and municipal taxes.
In Eunice, the November sales tax revenue was $415,846, down 2.7 percent or $11,583 from the November 2015 revenue.
Eunice’s November revenue was 9.4 percent off from October’s $459,149.
The parish revenue total of $5,066,244 in November was down $166,079 — 3.2 percent — from November 2015’s $5,232,323.
From October to November, the St. Landry Parish sales tax revenue total dropped 17.7 percent. Revenue in October totaled $6,159,312 and dropped to $5,066,244 in November.
The sales tax rate in Eunice is 10.75 percent. Of that 5 percent is state, 3.55 percent is parish and 2.2 percent is city.
Unincorporated areas pay a 10.5 percent sales tax revenue, which includes 5 percent state and 5.5 percent parish rates.
On April 1, the state sales tax rate rose by 1 percent.
