Lafeyette Diocese Bishop Doug Deshotel released the following Easter message.
“Hello, I’m Bishop Doug Deshotel of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Lafayette, wanting to wish everyone a very holy and happy Easter season. As we reflect on the spiritual meaning of this very holy time of the year, we are reminded of the great work of our Savior, Jesus Christ, His suffering and death on the cross for the sins of the world and to reconcile us to the Father in heaven, and His victory over the great enemies of the human race, sin and death. Now, the hope is given to all of us who follow Him that we too will share in the light of resurrection to an everlasting life. The great message of Christianity is that no matter how difficult, no matter how bad things are, we who follow Christ will also rise to everlasting life and be victorious ourselves over death.
