Yard Bird Cook-off headed to 2nd year

St. Landry-Evangeline United Way invites the public to experience Cajun Cooking at its finest with the second annual Comme Ci, Comme Ca Yard Bird Cook-off in downtown Opelousas from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. April 13.
Admission is free. There will be fun jumps, face painting and more for children in the “Chicken Coop.”
Music will be provided by the local band “Southwinz.”
Should one want to taste the dishes, “Cluck Cards” are available for $5, which allows up to five dishes.
Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams and also to “Fan Favorite” and “Best Booth Décor.”
There will be a great silent auction.
Beverages will be sold, so no ice chests.
