Authorities: Leave that bear alone

Residents in the Clearview Subdivision area were advised by Acadia Parish Sheriff Wayne Melancon to steer clear of any bear they might spot near their homes.
People living on Horn Drive reported seeing a bear on their front porch shortly after daylight Wednesday.
Deputies and Wildlife and Fisheries officials said they believe the bear went back into nearby woods shortly after being spotted.
They cautioned the curious not to approach any bear scavenging the neighborhood for food, but to call authorities instead.
Earlier this month, wildlife representatives captured bears that were frequenting a neighborhood in Lafayette, about 20 miles to the east.
