Jindal vetoes PSC raise

Measure raised pay to $75,000 from $45,000

Gov. Bobby Jindal on Thursday informed the Clerk of the Louisiana House that he had vetoed a pay raise for Louisiana Public Service Commission members.
"Though I appreciate the dedication and important work of the commissioners, I find this raise to be excessive. Therefore, I am vetoing HB 939 and hereby return it to the House of Representatives," Jindal said.
The measure raised commissioners' pay to $75,000 from the current $45,000, effective immediately.
Jindal earlier this week vetoed a bill more than doubling state legislators' pay.
