Letters to the Editor
Thanks for help; response from Mayor
Thanks city for help
Editor, The Eunice News:
Many thanks to the mayor, city workers and our council representative Bubba Bourque for the fine way our neighborhood is now being maintained, including the spraying program.
Also to the Louisiana Water Co. for its prompt attention, even on Saturday, to a large water leak on one of our streets. Keep up the good work.

From the mayor
Editor, The Eunice News:
I would like to thank Ruth Manuel for her generous donation of aspidistra or “cast iron” plants to be planted around two oak trees at the beginning of Park Avenue across from Central Fire Station.
Mrs. Manuel was also generous enough to pay a landscaper to plant the plants. They did a beautiful job.
I would also like to thank the Fire Department for volunteering to keep those plants watered.
Regarding the wonderful letter of John and Susan Bergeron thanking the Wastewater Plant workers - I would like the people to know that the next morning, the city workers and I went back out there and ran a camera in the sewer pipe to see what the problem was.
We now own equipment which is basically a big Rotorooter and have begun using to clear roots out of sewer pipes.
Please let us know if any city sewer pipe in your area is running slow. Your help in our efforts to upgrade our sewer system will be greatly appreciated.
Mayor Bob Morris
