IOTA – Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, August 22, 2008 at St. Jules Catholic Church in Petit Mamou, LA for Mary Ena Caswell Stroderd, 93, who died Tuesday, August 19, 2008 in Lafayette, LA. Fr. Ted Broussard, pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Jules Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be observed at the funeral home from 2:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume on Friday from 8 a.m. until service time.
She is survived by five sons, Herman (wife Mildred) Stroderd of Baton Rouge, Allen (Wife Joan) and Joseph Stroderd of Basile, Winston (wife Beverly) Stroderd of Broussard and Henry Stroderd of Alexandria; two daughters, Ruth (husband Ronald) Pousson of Egan and Barbara (husband John) Hoffpauir of Lafayette; four sisters, Lilly Young and Elrine Belfour, both of Eunice, Imae Seilhan of Crowley and Beatrice Doucet of Iota; two brothers, Viel and Elvin Caswell, both of Eunice; twenty-seven grandchildren, forty-seven great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elson Stroderd, Sr.; her parents, Elice and Loricia Bertrand Caswell; three sons, Edison, Patrick, and Thomas Stroderd; a daughter, Debora Stroderd; a sister, Eve Caswell and a grandson, Daimon Stroderd.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home, Inc. of Iota.
