St. Landry Parish students showed their art, technology, and filled the Courthouse Square with music on Saturday during the second annual Arts and STEAM festival. “I think it was of the many good things that we have going on now,” said School Board President and Eunice School Board member Mary Ellen Donatto. “We intend to continue to be involved in this. I think it is awesome because we know what our students do, but the general public doesn’t know until you put on a function like this,” she said. Superintendent Milton Batiste III said, “I think it is important because again it helps spark student interest. It helps keep students interested in school.”

Firefighters rescue man from rice bin

Firefighters rescued a man after he fell into a rice bin at North CC Duson and East Vine, according to Eunice Fire Chief Chaise Brown.
The incident occurred at 6:49 p.m. Tuesday.
