EUNICE~It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of their beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend, Betty Thibodeaux, on October 19, 2020 at the age of 67.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the St. Thomas More Cemetery with Father Sensat Celebrant.
Betty was a homemaker and devoted her life to her loving family. She enjoyed Christmas Holidays, cooking and keeping her house clean. She also loved nothing more than spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She will be missed each and every day especially by her loving husband of fifty one years, James “Doc” Thibodeaux of Basile; her three wonderful daughters, Tracy Vidrine and husband, Wayne of Turkey Creek, Dana Marcantel and husband, Chris of Lumberton, TX and Donna Clark and husband, Rex of Oakdale; her loving brother, Riley Duplechin of Rayne; her two loving sisters, Linda McWhirter and husband, Winzell of Turkey Creek and Hazel Guillory of Ville Platte. The joys of her life, her nine grandchildren, Brennon, Kristin and Devon Vidrine, Brett and Kyle Marcantel, Brittany, Jada, Brooklyn and Jessica Clark; and one grandchild, Kainen Causey; as well as extended family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Dupre and Martha Thomas Duplechin; her brothers, Mentor, Carroll, Simon and Dupre “Junior” Duplechin; her sister, Earline McMillen.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Tuesday, October 20 from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m. and again on Wednesday, October 21 from 9 a.m. until time of services. Deacon Gary Gaudin will recite a Rosary at 6 p.m. on Tuesday.
