Private graveside services wass held Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at 11:30 a.m. in Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas for Gloria Jean Miller, the former Gloria Mott, age 80, who passed away on Monday, April 20, 2020 at her residence in Opelousas.
Deacon Dwayne Joubert, of St. Landry Catholic Church, will officiate at the services.
Ms. Gloria was a native and lifelong resident of Opelousas. She was a homemaker for her entire life and was a very private person, but loved volunteering her time at St. Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas where she was a parishioner.
Gloria was a loving and caring mother and sister and adored her grandchildren. Christmas Eve will never be the same without her gumbo and potato salad.
Survivors include two sons, Richard Miller and his wife, Kristy, of Baton Rouge and Jeffrey Miller and his wife, Shanna, of Lafayette; two sisters, Joyce Fruge and her husband, Clyde, of Eunice and Dee Smith and her husband, David, of Lake Charles; five grandchildren, Bryce Miller of Baton Rouge, and Kaitlyn, Whitney, Hannah, and Brennan Miller of Lafayette; and seven nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, David Mark Miller; her parents, Clivence and Inez Mott of Eunice; a sister, Judy Lejeune; and a brother, Darrell Mott.
