Marcell Johnson Sr. passed away on Wednesday, January 2, 2019, at the age of 74.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019, at 1:00 PM at Annunciation Catholic Church in Duralde. Burial will follow at Ashford Cemetery in Duralde. Fr. Matt Hebert will officiate.
At the request of the family visitation will begin on Friday, January 4, 2019 at 8:00 AM until 10:00 PM at Quirk and Son Funeral Home in Eunice and will reopen on Saturday at 8:00 AM until time of services. A rosary will be prayed on Friday, January 4, 2019 at 6:30PM. Deacon Jim Cormier will officiate.
Marcell is survived by three sons; Marcell Johnson, Jr., Jessie Johnson, Cyprien “Charles” Johnson and wife Christine, four daughters; Maretta Deshotel and husband Benny, Aline King and husband Joe, Becky Merikle and companion Donald Benoit, Maranda Cormier and husband Jason, two brothers; Jimmy Johnson, Johnny Johnson, two sisters; Bertha Janise, Lou Anna Johnson, twenty grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
Marcell was preceded in death by his parents, Cyprien Johnson and Marice Pitre Johnson, his wife, JoAnn Johnson, two brothers; JD Johnson, Lawrence Johnson, one sister; Mary Lou Naquin, one great grandson, Karson Manuel.
Quirk and Son Funeral Home in Eunice is in charge of the arrangements.
