EUNICE-It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Roy Sattler announces his passing at his home on February 16, 2021 at the age of 75. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. on Monday, February 22, 2021 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Eunice. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Thomas More Cemetery with Father Sonny Brown, Celebrant.
Roy was a proud Vietnam War Veteran of the United States Navy and was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He enjoyed fishing and gardening, but most of all he was a true supporter of Bobcat sports, being the #1 fan of the Eunice Bobcats.
Roy is survived by his wife of 51 years, Beatrice “Beezee” Sattler of Eunice; sons, Michael Sattler and wife, Shelly of Eunice, Todd Sattler and wife, Tuyet Tran of Eunice, Blake Sattler and wife, Vanessa of Jacksonville, FL, and Jason Sattler of Eunice; daughter, Monique Martinez and husband, Ivan of Eunice; brother, Charles “Chee” Sattler and wife, Florence of Eunice; sisters, Shirley McGee and late husband, Mervin, Velma Rougeau and husband, Randall, and Dorothy Brown and late husband, Wilbur, all of Eunice; eleven grandchildren, Alec and Addison Sattler, Caleb, Lindsey, and Dat Dylan Sattler, Andrew Garces, Breana, Jordan, and Jonathan Sattler, Des’tnee Gray, and Tayler Nicely; as well as a host of extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gurvey Charles and Ella Marie LeJeune Sattler; and sister, Carolyn Pousson and husband, David.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Sunday, February 21, 2021 from1 p.m. until 8 p.m., and again on Monday, February 22, 2021 from 8 a.m. until time of services. Deacon Gary Gaudin will recite a Rosary at 7 p.m. on Sunday.
