BREAUX BRIDGE, LA – Shirley Mire Hale, 62, gained her wings, March 16, 2022, surrounded by her children at home.
Mrs. Shirley was raised and graduated from Port Barre, LA. She decided to be a native of Carencro, LA to raise her children. Then, at retirement, moved to Breaux Bridge, LA. Mrs. Shirley had an unmatched zest for life. Her witty intelligence and charismatic personality enabled her to be successful at completing college, operating family businesses and leaving an unforgettable impression with whoever she met. She had the ability to strike up a conversation with a stranger and walk away as lifelong friends. Mrs. Shirley always said her proudest accomplishment was raising her 5 children.
Mrs. Shirley had a special / different relationship with each one of her children. Their childhood memories are filled with their Momma being a fierce woman, master cook in the kitchen, dancing with them to any kind of music, and coffee dates with friends. Her hands were rarely still and could be found sewing, crafting, painting, cross-wording, coloring, gardening or packing for her next “road trip”. The lasting impression of her will be the unconditional love for her family, keen sense of humor, and unique way of entertaining her family and friends.
Mrs. Shirley is survived by her children, Jodie Dupuis and husband Tom of Henderson; Roddy Magnon & significant other Elise Louviere of Butte La Rose; Angle Adams & husband Travis of Breaux Bridge; Heather Magnon-Dugas and significant other David Dupuis Jr. of Henderson; Candy Clark and husband Shoo of Leonville; niece Geraldine Guillory of Port Barre; former spouse David Hale of Breaux Bridge; 22 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and a host of cousins, nieces & nephews.

Momma’s (Mrs. Shirley’s) children deeply appreciate Linda Douglas R.N. and the staff of Amedisys Hospice Care of Lafayette for the kindness and loving care given so freely in her last days.
Momma, your love will forever be our guide. Few knew the extent to which you struggled. Your joy for life and indomitable spirit kept you pushing through pain. Through you, we know what resilience and perseverance truly looks like.
“Nobody else held me so tight
Or made me feel so right
No one’s eyes shined so bright with love
As my mom, who is now high above”
– Tammy Butler
