Scenes from the 37th annual World-wide Crawfish Etouffee Cook-off

A huge crowd was at the Northwest Community pavilion Saturday for the 37th annual World-wide Crawfish Etouffee Cook-off.
Over 30 cooking teams participated and cooked their secret favorite crawfish etouffee recipe and served hundreds of people as they sampled a cup to their liking.
The public had a chance to vote for their favorite cooking team and this cooking team was named the Listeners’ Choice award on stage. Winners were announced at the end of the day which included Amateur and Professional Cooking divisions and Showmanship/Booth Decoration teams.
There were three bands playing during the cook-off event, Cameron Fontenot & Rthym Aces, C 4 with Steve Riley and Jamie Bergeron and Kickin Cajuns.
There were many arts and crafts booths, other food vendors, baked goods, Kona Ice under the pavilion. Kids enjoyed the sunshine on fun jumps.
Winners of the 37th annual Crawfish Etouffee Cook-off were named. In the Cooking Amateur Division, Corey’s Cooling & Heating took first place; District Attorney Chad Pitre placed second and Bank Plus placed third.
In the Cooking, Professional catergory winners were LSUE, first place; Advanced Electrical took second place; and Pa-ta-sa Cooking Krewe placed third.
In the Showmanship/Booth Decoration Division winners were named. Cuttin’ It Close Lawnscapes, LLC took first place; Lakeview Park placed second and LSUE placed third.
The KEUN Listeners Choice Award, voted by the people, went to Cuttin’ It Close Lawnscapes.
