Woman accused of cruelty to the infirm

A 33-year-old Opelousas woman is accused of cruelty to an infirmed person.
St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz said Rachael Lynn Tresner, 33, of the 3800 block of Highway 35, was employed a caretaker for the victim.

Stolen ATVs, trailer recovered

A Washington man’s arrest netted two stolen ATVs and a trailer, according to Sheriff Bobby Guidroz.
Investigators on Aug. 31 received information on an ongoing investigation that involved the theft of several ATVs in the parish.

Deputy fired for gassing up with department fuel card

St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s corrections deputy Christopher Wayne Spencer ended up charged and fired for using a department fuel card to gas up his personal vehicle, Sheriff Bobby Guidroz reported.

St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz has started a Contactless Self-Reporting System that allows citizens to file a crime report online.
Guidroz stressed the system is for minor crimes in his announcement on Monday.
