Motorcyclist dies

Breaux Bridge – Charles Carter, 40, of Breaux Bridge, died March 30 when the motorcycle he was riding crossed into the path of a heavy-duty pickup truck towing a horse trailer. According to BBPD Assistant Chief Rollie Cantu, Carter was traveling north on La. 328 (Rees Street Extension) when his motorcycle crossed the center line into the path of the oncoming truck driven by Brannon Brinson of Rayne. No charges have been filed against Brinson.

Carter was wearing a helmet but died at the scene.
