The Ville Platte Magnolia Garden Club presented its Civic Award of Merit for November to Sonic Drive-In and its manager Donald Thibodeaux. This award is given to public buildings or businesses in the city limits of Ville Platte who maintain their appearance and help beautify the city. Thibodeaux is congratulated for his efforts in acheiving this award. The island beds are filled with a beautiful display of knock-out roses, flowering garlic greenery, miniature bronze zinnias and red coleus. The club awarded the Garden of the Month prize to Paula and Craig Manuel. This award is given to a residence in the Ville Platte city limits that projects creativity, balance and neatness in the surroundings of their home. The Manuels were chosen unanimously for a “picture perfect” fall garden filled with flowering pansies, azaleas, knock-out roses, marigolds, and astez grass.
