What began as your basic squabble turned into more for four men and woman on Sunday afternoon.

Police responded to a call about 3 p.m. regarding an alleged fight on East Vine.

The first officer on the scene observed several men and women arguing when he arrived.

Thomas Murphy, II, 19, who appeared, according to the report, to be intoxicated, confronted the officer.

As that was happening, Ariel Arnoud, 17, drove up, yelling and cursing, the report stated. The report asserted she was told to stay back and she refused, continuing into the middle of the situation.

The officer said she then refused to obey an order to turn and place her hands behind her so that she could be restrained. She was twice instructed to do so, the report states.

After the second refusal, the officer placed his hands on her to place her in restraints and she resisted, according to the officer.

As the officer took the woman to the ground, Murphy allegedly rushed him, hollering at the officer not to put his hands “on my wife.”

He allegedly attacked the officer, hitting him in the chest and trying to hit him in the face.

Another of the responding officer pepper sprayed Murphy and took him to the ground, but he got away and again charged the other officer, the report states.

At that point, the officer deployed his Taser and Murphy went down and was arrested, as was Arnoud.

A third party, Miguel Deshotel, 18, of Mamou was told to leave the scene by a third officer who had arrived and “smarted off”, according to the report and was arrested after initially resisting.

Two others were also charged in the incident.

Charges:

Arnoud, 631 North 2nd, interfering with duties of a police officer, resisting an officer.

Murphy, 433 Rodney, two counts battery on an officer, two counts resisting an officer, disturbing the peace.

Deshotel, interfering with duties of an officer, resisting an officer.

Joshua Ashworth, 19, 125 Pat Deize Road, Iota, disturbing the peace, summons.

Joseph Frugé, 27, 841 Tate, simple battery, disturbing the peace.
