State Police Troop I reported that shortly after midnight Sunday a 2002 Honda Accord driven by Emily Faul, 26, of Church Point, was east-bound on La. 178 when it left the road east of Church Point.
According to Troop I, Faul overcorrected, causing the vehicle to rotate counterclockwise and travel across the roadway. The vehicle traveled off the roadway to the left, went through a ditch and struck a tree.
Ms. Faul, who was not wearing her seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle and was transported to a local area hospital where she was reported in critical condition.
