A Eunice man arrested for alleged drunk driving at least twice before on Thursday night refused to get out of his car following a cross-town pursuit and a TASER was used to accomplish his arrest, police said.

According to police, Brandon Lacalle, 32, was involved in a hit and run on the west side of the city about 9 p.m. and fled eastward on Laurel, at times going east in the west-bound lane.

When finally cornered, Lacalle locked himself in his vehicle. Officers took necessary action.

Lacalle was jailed on charges of DWI 3rd, reckless operation, hit and run, improper lane usage and aggravated flight from an officer.
