"Between Nov. 20 and Nov. 22 someone went to 880 La. 752 and stole a four-wheeler from that residence," said Jimmy Darbonne with Crime Stoppers. "The owner used this four-wheeler on his property and would park it behind the residence.
The missing four-wheeler is a green 2005 Honda electric-shift, four-wheel drive, with a front and rear rack.
"The rear rack has a yellow spray bottle on it. The serial number is on file," Darbonne said.
The lock may also be broken, as the keys were not on the four-wheeler at the time of the theft.
"If you have any information about this crime, please call St. Landry Crime Stoppers at 948-8477," Darbonne said.
Tips can also be filed online by going to the Crime Stoppers Web site at stlandrycrimestoppers.com or you can send a text message by texting TIP625, plus your tip, to CRIMES (274637).
All calls are kept confidential and can be made anonymously.
When a tip is called in, the person is given a code number that is used for all future correspondence.
If that tip leads to the crime's solution, Crime Stoppers can arrange for the reward payment to be made through a third party so the tipster can remain anonymous.
To qualify for the reward, Darbonne said a case does not have to go to trial — only to arrest and the acceptance of the charges by the district attorney's office.
In addition to the $1,000 reward for the solution of the featured Crime of the Week, Darbonne said his agency also gives out $200 to $400 rewards for tips on other crimes.
He said the amount varies depending on the severity of the crime, the amount of drugs or stolen property recovered and other factors.
