Wednesday last chance to register for primaries

St. Landry Registrar of Voters John Moreau has announced that the last day to register to vote in the Aug. 28 party primaries for U.S. Senate will be Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.

Persons interested in participating in the upcoming election must register to vote by that deadline.

In the primary election, the following persons are allowed to vote based on their party registration:

U.S. Senator, Democratic Party

Allows: Democrat, None and Other Parties

Does Not Allow: Republican, Green, Libertarian or Reform Parties.

U.S. Senator, Libertarian Party

Allows: Libertarian, None and Other Parties

Does Not Allow: Democrat, Republican, Green or Reform Parties

U.S.Senator, Republican Party

Allows: Only registered Republican voters

Voters should report to their usual polling place Aug. 28. Registration forms may be completed in the registrar's office, and are also available at all city halls, banks and libraries.
