CROWLEY – The Louisiana Public Service Commission is meeting at Crowley’s Rice Theatre Wednesday morning. They took questions from the audience including one from Crowley resident Clay LeJeune who asked about his Cleco electric bill and about the disparity with the bills that SLEMCO customers are paying. John Shirley, of Cleco, stated that the rate is directly related to the amount that Cleco is charged for its fuel as well as the situation with improvements to the Rodemacher system. “All commissioners should always be kept updated of the Rodemacher situation,” said Chairman Lambert Boissiere. “Please assure us that you are doing everything you can to keep our citizens rates down.”

Commissioner Holloway added “I am a Cleco rate payer and I know exactly what you are talking about. My number one objective when I took this office was to keep our citizens rates down.”
