The Ville Platte Police Department has confirmed that a 3-year-old child died after being left in a car on Tuesday.
The lawsuits just keep coming for the City of Ville Platte and the Ville Platte Police Department since the U.S. Department of Justice found regularly arrested and held people in jail without a warrant or probable cause.
The City of Ville Platte isn’t the only municipality facing lawsuits because of actions on the part of their law enforcement officers.
Former Ville Platte Detective Nathaniel Savoy was sentenced to 18 months in prison in November 2016 for falsifying a police report to cover up his own involvement in a “conspiracy to burglarize” a local Ville Platte business.
VMayor Jennifer Vidrine, for the first time, publicly addressed the Department of Justice’s report citing the Ville Platte Police Department for performing illegal investigative holds”at a City Council meeting on Jan. 17.
