12:19 Laptop stolen at St. Elizabeth apartment.

Branch woman succumbs to injuries received in Acadia Parish crash

Mary Helen Hundley, 21, of Branch, died form injuries she suffered in a two vehicle injury crash on La. 365 near Schule Road in Acadia Parish.
According to a news release from State Police Troop I the crash occurred as Hundley was driving a 2014 Kia Sportage westbound on La. 365. At the same time, Scory Demouchet was parked on the roadway in the westbound lane in a 2007 Kenworth tractor-trailer. Despite Demouchet’s emergency flashers being activated, Hundley’s SUV struck the rear of the tractor-trailer.

The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office.
May 18 - 20
John C. Milton, 44, 100 block of Macarthur Drive, Sunset. Simple battery, simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling, monetary instrument abuse. Arrested by Sunset Police.
Mark Papillion, 55, 600 block of Rymond Street, Opelousas. Bench warrant. Arrested by St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Michael Manuel, 40, 1900 block of Highway 742, Opelousas. Bench warrant (2 counts). Arrested by St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office.
