April 13 - 15
Deangelo Bourque, 24, 1100 block of Garland Avenue, Opelousas. Hold for Harris County, TX. Arrested by St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office.
John Rickson Lee, 37, 700 block of S. 5th Street, Eunice. Domestic abuse battery, theft, simple assault, possession of schedule I CDS. Arrested by Eunice Police Department.
Steven Babineaux, 48, 400 block of Rue Normandie, Eunice. Drug paraphernalia, hold for Lafayette Parish. Arrested by Louisiana State Police.

Noah O. Rasberry, 18, 7200 block of Eunice Iota Hwy., Iota.. Aggravated assault with a firearm.

April 13
Deonte’ J. Walker, 20, Eunice. Theft, and simple battery.
John R. Lee, 37, Eunice. Theft, domestic abuse battery, simple assault and possession of heroin.

April 14
Kevin Porter, 26, 100 block of Convent St., Eunice. Operating a vehicle while intoxicate, hit and run driving.

Holden Matthews

Suspect in church fires is deputy’s son linked by purchases to crimes

Holden Matthews, a 21-year-old Opelousas man, was arrested Wednesday in connection with fires that burned down three historically black Baptist churches in a 10-day span in Louisiana’s St. Landry Parish.
Local, state and federal investigators detailed Matthews’ arrest Thursday morning at a news conference shedding light on how Matthews’ allegedly set the churches on fire and what might have driven him to do it.
