Man booked on two counts of attempted murder

A Baldwin man was booked Tuesday on attempted murder charges stemming from an incident in which he stabbed two people in Franklin, St. Mary Parish Sheriff Scott Anslum said in a news release.

—Darrell Harris, 28, of Jolivette Street in Baldwin, was arrested at 3:35 p.m. Tuesday on two warrants for failure to appear on charges of two counts of attempted second-degree murder and possession of a firearm or carrying a concealed weapon by a person convicted of a felony.

11:43 Subject loaned his bike and they never returned it in the 200 block of Jelks.

Eunice Police arrests

The following are arrests by the Eunice Police Department.
Nov. 14
Joanie Elizabeth Andrews, 34, 500 block of College Road, Eunice. Theft.
Lakeisha Frank Vigers, 38, 500 block of Fuselier Street and 650 South East, Eunice. Contributing to the delinquency of juveniles.

St. Landry Parish Crime Stoppers recognized

The St. Landry Crime Stoppers program has been awarded the 2018 Best Crime of the Week for both radio and print for the population 0 to 250,000 in the nation, according to St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz.
Last year St. Landry Crime Stoppers won the 2017 Best TV and Radio Crime of the Week but was beat out for television this year by Crime Stoppers of Napperville, Illinois.
“The only other time Louisiana received awards was in 2014 and 2015 for population over 250,000 and was won by New Orleans Crime Stoppers and Greater New Orleans Crime Stoppers.” Guidroz said.   

Crowley Police seek tips in shooting

Crowley police are investigating a shooting which occurred in the 200 block of East 4th Street. 
Just before noon Nov. 10, police responded to First Baptist Church regarding to a shooting which occurred outside of the church during a funeral. The victim was shot multiple times and was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. 
Crowley Police believe that there were two suspects on scene, however only one shot the victim. The suspects are described as black males, medium build wearing hoodie style sweatshirts. They fled the scene on foot.
