Eunice man who escaped parish is back in custody

A Eunice man who escaped from the St. Landry Parish Jail Monday and led law enforcement officers on a foot chase in Evangeline Parish on Monday was recaptured at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, according to Sheriff Bobby Guidroz.
Ronald Adam McGee, 34, was spotted at about 1 p.m. Monday by Mamou Chief of Police Brent Zackery along La. 13 riding what the chief said has been identified as a stolen four-wheeler.
According to the chief, he and his detective, Drew Fruge, were traveling south on La. 13 headed toward Eunice when he “noticed the four-wheeler coming from Eunice.”

Brionka Benjamin, 33, 600 block of East Jefferson Street, Opelousas. Theft less than $1,000 and criminal trespass.
Sophia Duriso, 37, 700 block of West Park Avenue, Opelousas. Theft less than $1,000 and criminal trespass.
Christopher Dwayne Coleman, 17, 100 block of Lawtell Elementary Road, Opelousas. Theft.

Shuream M. Eaglin, 37, 700 block of Nimitz Street, Eunice. Drug court violation. Arrested by St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Eric Lemond McNeal, 37, 200 block of Magnolia Street, Opelousas. Theft. Arrested by St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Jale Christopher Hopwood, 33, 9500 block of Wallace Road, Shreveport. Hold for Natchitoches Parish. Arrested by Opelousas Police.

Acadia Parish sheriff requests informaiton about fatal hit and run

The Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office is seeking information from the public regarding a fatal hit and run crash, which occurred at about 8:30 p.m. Monday in the 1100 block of Lovell Street.
The victim, identified as Jeanette Clifton, 78, of Crowley, was struck by a vehicle believed to be traveling west on Lovell Street. The victim was walking home from a neighbor’s residence when she was struck.
