The following are arrests by Eunice Police.
Aug. 17
Juvenile, 16, Eunice. Disturbing the peace.
Juvenile, 15, Eunice. Disturbing the peace.
Eva Belton, 51, 800 block of Beulah, Eunice. Possession of marijuana.
Gaston Woods, 32, 500 block of Halsey Street, Eunice. Bench warrants.

Information sought about 4-wheeler thefts

Crime Stoppers of Acadia Parish needs help to solve a crime.
During the past month the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office has received several complaints of four-wheeler thefts. The most recent ones were from the Basile, Evangeline and Crowley areas.
The four-wheelers are all Hondas and described as a red 2015 Rubicon, a green 2003 Rubicon, and a green 2013 Rancher with snorkel kit, mud tires and black SS rims.

Tips sought in theft of 3 recreational vehicles

TSt Landry Crime Stoppers and the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s office need help in locating three stolen recreational vehicles from the Lawtell area.
On July 5, a black 2016 Harley Davidson 883 Sportster was reported stolen on U.S. 190. Deputies also reported that on July 29 a 2008 Isuzu Red Quad King ATV was stolen along with a camouflaged trailer on La. 358.

Phone scammers targeting Acadia Parish, sheriff says

Acadia Parish Sheriff K.P. Gibson wants everyone to be aware of an aggressive phone scam targeting Acadia Parish citizens where the caller ID /telephone number has been altered to look like it’s coming from the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office.
“These scammers are using intimidation factors by telling victims they owe taxes and must pay promptly through a pre-loaded debit card or wire transfer or they’ll be arrested,” said Gibson. “In some instances victims may be told they have a refund due to trick them into sharing private information.”
