Barry Butler

Trusty disappears in Opelousas

St Landry Sheriff’s Office is looking for inmate Barry Butler, who was assigned as a trusty at the office’s service station on the west side of Opelousas and walked off the property.
He was serving time for traffic charges, flight charges and felon in possession of a firearm.
Butler, 33, is a white male, about 6 feet tall and about 180 lbs. Butler has tattoos around his neck and small tattoo under his right eye.
He was last seen wearing a navy blue jumper.
Butler’s last known address is Alexandria.
His direction of travel is unknown.

Sept. 7
Deomaante K. Frank, 19, 600 block of South East Street, Eunice. Possession of firearm in the presence of CDS, distribution/manufacture or possession with intent of Sch. I CDS, distribution/manufacture or possession with intent of Sch II CDS, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of firearm by felon. Arrested by Eunice Police.

Karmen Lomas

Eunice woman arrested for fatal crash

Karmen Lomas, a 46-year-old Eunice woman, was arrested in connection with a crash that took the life of Gregory Leger, 24, of Rayne, according to a Louisiana State Police Troop I news release.
The crash occurred on May 13 on La. 13 near Schultz Road in Acadia Parish.
On Wednesday, troopers arrested Lomas after toxicology results showed that Lomas was under the influence of multiple types of narcotics at the time of the crash, police stated.
Lomas was placed under arrest and charged with vehicular homicide and reckless operation of a motor vehicle, police stated.

Illegal carrying of weapons in presence of CDS, possession with intent to distribute Schedule I CDS, possession with intent to distribute Schedule II CDS, possession drug paraphernalia, possession of firearm with obliterated serial number. Arrested by Eunice Police.
