The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office.
May 26
Orion Fitzgerald, 26, 1800 block of Parkview Drive, Opelousas. Probation violation, possession of a Schedule II CDS; possession with intent to distribute a Schedule I CDS; illegal possession of weapons in the presence of a CDS; illegal use of a CDS in the presence of persons under seventeen years of age; transactions involving proceeds from drug offenses.

07:02 Stolen lawnmower in the 600 block South Martin Luther King.
07:51 Wallet fell off top of vehicle Raceway.
08:23 Woman wants to speak to an officer about subject hitting on her in the 1300 block of Faris.
08:55 18-wheeler flipped over at St. Joseph and U.S. 190.
09:39 Back door broken and items taken from residence in the 400 block of St. George.
09:56 Residential break-in in the 100 block of Prairie.

Eunice Police arrests

The following are arrests by Eunice Police.
May 25
Donavon Bellard, 25, 800 bock of South Beulah, Eunice. Probation violation.
Alden Ray Fontenot, 44, 800 block of South Beulah, Eunice. Parole violation.
Jada Allison, 19, 1100 block of Joanna Drive, Eunice. Principal to criminal mischief and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.
Juvenile, 16, Lake Charles. Criminal mischief.

13 arrested in Lafayette Parish insurance fraud investigation

Thirteen people were arrested Thursday for their involvement in a staged crash and insurance fraud scheme, a news release from Louisiana State Police Troop I stated.
The arrests came as a result of a nearly year-long extensive investigation out of Lafayette Parish conducted by the Louisiana State Police Insurance Fraud/Auto Theft Unit.
Three additional suspects are still wanted at this time as a part of this ongoing investigation.

May 25
Cody James Champagne, 26, 200 block of Raiders Road, Ville Platte. Speeding; no driver’s license in possession; flight from an officer. Arrested by Louisiana State Police.
Marc Anthony Powell, 43, 5600 block of Hwy. 361, Morrow. Aggravated second- degree battery.
Tony James Brasseaux Sr., 51, 200 block of South St. John, Carencro. Arson with intent to defraud; criminal conspiracy. Arrested by Louisiana State Fire Marshal.
