Crowley man pleads guilty to taking videos of sex with minor

U.S. Attorney Stephanie A. Finley announced that a Crowley man pleaded guilty Tuesday to using his cell phone to record sex acts with a minor.
Blake Damian Rodgers, 35, of Crowley, pleaded guilty before U.S. Magistrate Judge Carol Whitehurst to one count of production of child pornography. The plea will become final after it is accepted by U.S. District Judge Patricia Minaldi.

Road by DMV office to be striped

The curve at the intersection of Jake Street and West Ash Avenue will be striped at the first of the week, Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot said.
The location is near the Department of Motor Vehicle Office.
Fontenot said motorists will be required to stay in their lane at the intersection after the striping is done. Failure to do so may result in a citation for improper lane usage, he said.

St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office arrests

The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Feb. 1
Alexis Wilton Mayfield, 41, 100 block of Garnet Drive, Opelousas. Distribution of schedule I drugs.
Collin Kenneth Speyrer, 20, 100 block of Pitre Road, Ville Platte. Domestic abuse battery.
Darrell R. Edwards, 33, 800 block of East Street, Opelousas. Two counts of distribution of schedule II drugs.
Florence Marie Jones, 36, 1700 block of Bossier Street, Opelousas. Eighteen counts of unauthorized use of an access card.

Feb. 2
Juvenile, 15, Eunice. Violation of Uniform Controlled Dangerous Subject drug-free zone, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
India Nichole Mayne, 22, 200 block of West Ash Street, Eunice. Arrest warrant for shoplifting.
Ryan Mitchell Aymond, 35, 200 block of Rodney Street, Eunice. Bench warrants for theft, theft by shoplifting and remaining after being forbidden.
