Arrest made in Labor Day Weekend home invasion

A man arrested Saturday on a warrant from the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office is facing additional charges from the Crowley Police Department.
Billy Joe Hanks, who was nabbed by Youngsville Police on Sept. 8 for felony theft, aggravated flight from an officer, criminal damage to property and trespassing in a separate incident, has been charged in connection with the Labor Day Weekend home invasion here.

Eunice Police arrests

The following are arrests by Eunice Police.
Sept. 12
Gano Jecobly Vallier, 28, 300 block of Myers Street, Eunice. Probation-parole hold.
Andy L. Rider, 36, 1800 block of West Park Avenue, Eunice. Possession of marijuana 14 grams or less and bench warrant.

St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office arrests

The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Sept. 12
Brandy Elaine Gentle, 33, 2100 block of Jules LaGrange Road., Arnaudville. Domestic abuse battery, child endangerment. Arrested by St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Department.
Johnathan Hunt, 31, 300 block of Charlene Richard Road, Opelousas. Battery of a dating partner. Arrested by St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Department.

Dead Eunice man ID’d as witness to killing

The only eyewitness in the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office’s investigation into a June murder was recently found dead in Eunice.
The witness was identified as Jonas Vigers during a recent bond hearing for Brandon Perkins.
Perkins is accused of killing DeLanzo Veal at a trail ride held on Joe Fontenot Road.
Eunice Chief of Police Randy Fontenot confirmed Monday that Vigers had been found dead by his mother over Labor Day weekend.
