St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s arrests

The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Nov. 16
James Lanclos Jr., 20, 1600 block of Little Teche Road, Port Barre. Three counts of theft, contributing to the delinquency of juveniles, criminal trespassing.
Nov. 29
Brandon Lee Ponthieux, 30, 300 block of Todd Avenue, Krotz Springs. Bench warrant, and two counts schedule II drugs, manufacture/sale.
Nov. 30
Clifton J. Johnson, 32, 700 block of Lewis Street, Eunice molestation of a juvenile.

Mamou Police: Woman led high-speed chase

The Mamou Police Department’s night began with a Toys for Tots fundraiser, but it ended with a high speed car chase at 100 miles per hour through the city limits on Nov. 22.
The high speed chase began after Officer Johnny Freeman attempted to perform a routine traffic stop on a black sedan driven 45 mph in a 35 mph zone. After the driver, who was later identified as Taylor LeBlanc, failed to pull over, backup was called in to assist in the chase that according to Chief of Police Brent Zackery lasted 10 to 15 minutes long.

06:22 Green Bronco has too loud of engine in the 500 block of Ida.
07:05 Stolen medication in the 700 block of South 4th.
07:22 Water line broken on Viola near Gum. Lawco notified.
13:10 Disturbance with two women in the 600 block of South 2nd.
13:35 Lobby complaint about stolen purse.
13:54 Stranded motorist in front of Winn Dixie blocking one lane.
19:10 Drug paraphernalia at Benoit and Corn.

Eunice Police arrests

The following are arrests by Eunice Police.

Dec. 2
Claburn Bradley, 50, 200 block of Natalie Street, Eunice. Theft of goods (shoplifting).
Darrell Lee Jones, 55, 500 block of West Gum Street, Eunice. Three warrants.
Lacie Ann Miller, 31, 1000 block of North 7th Street, Eunice. Warrant.

 

Crime Stoppers of Acadia Parish needs help solving burglary in Church Point

The Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating a residential burglary, which occurred in the 1200 block of Castille Highway in Church Point sometime between Nov. 23 and Nov. 27.
Forced entry was made into the home through the rear door, and once inside unknown suspects stole a 55” plasma TV. Because of its weight, removal of the television would have required at least two individuals.
