State Police investigating officer-involved shooting

Shortly after 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, Louisiana State Police Troop I was contacted by the Ville Platte Police Department to assist with the apprehension of a shooting suspect located in a residence in the 700 block of Wilson Street.
According to a news release from Louisiana State Police Troop I, upon arrival to the residence, officers with the Pine Prairie Police Department, Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office, and Louisiana State Police encountered the suspect and exchanged gunfire. The suspect was taken into custody shortly after 7 p.m. No officers were injured.

Church Point man arrested after crash kills Eunice man

A two-vehicle crash on U.S. 190 at La. 752 resulted in the death of 66-year-old Joseph Arabie of Eunice, and the arrest of 52-year-old Troy St Ann of Church Point, according to a news release from Louisiana State Police Troop I.
State Police said the crash occurred at about 7:45 p.m. as Arabie was driving a 2001 GMC Yukon westbound on U.S. 190 when it was struck in the rear by a westbound 2014 Chevrolet Corvette driven by St Ann.

Eunice man in critical condition following shooting

A 32-year-old Eunice man is in critical condition after being shot multiple times in the 600 block of Faris Street on Sunday, according to Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot.
Officers responded to a report of a shooting at Nimitz and Faris about 11:08 a.m. Sunday, he said.
The victim, who has not been identified, had been take to Acadian Medical Center and is now in a out-of-town hospital, he said.
“We do have people of interest we need to speak with,” Fontenot said.
Details were being withheld as the investigation occurs, he said.

Bobby Bonis, 48, 100 Tamaran Loop, Eunice. Disturbing the peace.
Brigette Denea Marcantel, 26, 1300 block of Highway 13, Eunice. Operating a vehicle while intoxicated and careless operation.
Frank James Dupre, 21, 1100 block of North Vivian Avenue, Eunice. Possession of marijuana 14 grams or less, license plate light required and possession of drug paraphernalia.
