Student arrested for bomb threat

A 13-year-old student was arrested for making a bomb threat at Eunice Junior High School on Thursday.
Eunice Police said a student reported there was a threat about “go boom by second bell” on a urinal.
Police and firefighters were notified and the school was evacuated. Eunice Elementary also was evacuated.
The schools were searched and not device was found.
The evacuation ended about 9:30 a.m.
The parents of the student who reported the threat were contacted and other students were interviewed by police.

St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office arrests

The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office.
March 13
Donovan L. Rosette Jr., 18, 200 block of Pine Avenue, Opelousas. Attempted manslaughter. Arrested by St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Isaiah Lamar Dupre, 23, 1200 block of Ina Clare Drive, Opelousas. Seat belt violation, no drivers license, possession of schedule I CDS, possession with intent to distribute schedule IV CDS, possession of drug paraphernalia, bench warrant. Arrested by Opelousas Police.

10:23 Female riding around Sunrise Apartments in a green Oldsmobile with a gun and male in vehicle.

March 12
Juvenile, 13, Eunice. False communication of a bomb threat and terrorizing.
Christine Michelle Johnson, 34, 200 block of Foster Drive, Lawtell. Theft less than $1,000.
Bobby Ray Vidrine, 34, 100 block of Mamie Street, Eunice. Illegal possession of stolen things valued less than $1,000.
Jonathan Neil Simar, 27, 4300 block of Cole Gully Road, Branch. Refund fraud.
Lindsey Fuselier, 27, 2600 block of Prudhomme Road, Eunice. Refund fraud.
