Ardoin’s Funeral Homes of Eunice, Basile, Iota, Mamou and Ville Platte prepared barbecue meals Friday for local first-responders in appreciation of their service.
On the 19th anniversary of Sept. 11 attacks, Kim Fontenot, Michael Pool, Bill Wimberly and other staff members at Ardoin’s served over 400 plate lunches to local police and fire departments, emergency medical responders and community officials.
Kim Fontenot of Ardoin’s in Eunice said, “We have been cooking for our emergency responders every year since the tragedy in 2001. It’s just a small way of saying thank you for what they do everyday to keep us all safe.”
Fontenot started this program on Sept. 11, 2002.
Fontenot thanked to Herman Miller who has dedicated his time as chief cook for the past several years as well as The New Ronnie’s Cajun Café and The Flower House for their donations.
