Rewards flow at Eunice High School’s 20th Renaissance Magic

Eunice High School students had the opportunity to win prizes from gift cards to IPad Airs at the 20th annual Eunice High School Renaissance Pep Rally on Friday in the school’s gymnasium.
Prizes included T-shirts, gift cards and much more from local businesses and individual.
Students were rewarded with certificates, book bags, duffle bags, Fitbit phone charges, prizes of Kindle Fire, iPad Mini, iPad Airs, and much more for their various academic achievements.
Students were honored for different achievements, which included perfect attendance, Accelerated Reading goal achievements, grade point average, Literary Rally, science and social studies fairs winners, FFA, ACT 22+ club membership, honor roll, Top Cat award, Student of the Year.
The theme was “20 years of Renaissance Magic,” and students, and faculty dressed the part of their choice of “Magic.”
Volunteer students acted as the party patrol as they threw candy, trinkets, and party favors to fellow classmates sitting on the gym benches.
Special guests were welcomed and recognized during the pep rally. This year’s guests included Mary Ellen Donatto, St. Landry Parish School Board member; Lisa Fuselier, facilitator at Eunice Career Technical Education Center; Tara LeBlanc, EHS Alumni Association president; Roger Pedigo, Eunice High Booster Club president; Mayor Scott Fontenot; Police Chief Randy Fontenot; City Marshal Terry Darbonne; and Claudia Blanchard, St. Landry Parish School director of curriculum.
Receiving recognition and honored with prizes were Student of the Year Katlyn Joubert; Teacher of the Year Coach Robert Trent; and Supporter of the Year Mona Pierrotti.
Students enjoyed and passed a good time outside of the norm classroom environment as music was provided at different intervals for their entertainment and line-dancing. Teachers joined in with dancing as well.
Recognizing and honoring 20 years of excellence at Eunice High, there were several grand prize winners. They and their prizes were: Sophie Dupre, Kindle Fire; Grant Fontenot, Kindle Fire; Cameron Givens, Kindle Fire; Edith Enriquez, Kindle Fire; Allie Sittig, iPad Mini; Aungelle Smith, iPad Air; and Alexis Gallow, iPad Air.
