Early voting draws 941 votes for Saturday’s election

Saturday’s election, which is topped by a race for state treasurer, drew 941 early votes in St. Landry Parish, according to the state secretary of state website.
There were 108 early votes cast in Eunice for this Saturday’s general election, Cheryl Milburn, parish registrar of voters, said.
There were 87,877 early votes statewide.
In Acadia Parish, 997 early votes were tallied in Evangeline Parish there were 331 votes.
The state treasurer’s race is between Derrick Edwards, a Democrat, and John Schroder, a Republican.
Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. Saturday.
Early voting ended Nov. 11.
Proper identification for registering to vote is one of the following documents: a current Louisiana driver’s license or identification card, a birth certificate and/or a baptismal certificate.
Also on the ballot in St. Landry Parish is a runoff for District 3 Council member in Washington between Dallas Leger and Tonya Doucet. There are millage renewal elections in Road District 12 of Ward 2 and Road District 1 of Ward 3.
