Misty Credeur, a 13-year employee of City Marshal Terry Darbonne, won the Eunice Rotary Club’s annual Administrative Assistant of the Year award.
The award was presented Wednesday at the club’s 31st annual luncheon at St. Thomas More Church Hall.
The Rotary Club solicits nominations for the award.
Rotary Club member Jacques Pucheu presented the award to Credeur, who received a trip to Branson, Missouri, courtesy of KEUN Radio, $500 spending money from the Rotary Club, a plaque and a flower arrangement.
Working at the marshal’s office is her first and only job, she said.
“They are like family,” she said of her boss and co-workers.
“He is an awesome boss. He’s understanding. I have four kids, so, there is always something going on,” she said after receiving the award.
In his letter nominating Credeur, Darbonne stated, “When she joined my office I knew I had the right person for the job. She juggles a busy schedule with a husband, four very active kids, not ot mention the bigger kids in our office and a full-time job.”
Darbonne stated, “The phrase ‘the right hand doesn’t know what the left hand is doing’ is the opposite of her. She does things for me before I know I need to do them.”
When Credeur took a leave to open a business, Darbonne said, “We were lost in the office because we lost a family member, the family member that kept things together and running in our office.”
Credeur would call to check on the office, he stated.
“After about a year she asked if she could come back to her old job because she missed her job and her office family,” he stated.
“She really has a stressful job as her duties include answering the phone, dispatching, processing garnishments, payroll, dealing with the public, logging down and dispersing all documents from City Court that need to be served and returned and many, many other duties,” Darbonne stated.
