The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. March 2 - 4 Fabian Albert, 34, 200 block of North Walnut, Opelousas. Simple battery, disturbing the peace, battery of an officer (three counts), resisting an officer. Arrested by Opelousas Police.

CDA Court 208 meeting set Monday Court Eunice 208 of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas will hold itsmonthly meeting at 6 p.m., Monday at the Jeanmard Hall. All members and potential members (Catholic females who are 18 years of age and older) are invited to attend.

William E. "Billy" Heinen

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for William Edward "Billy" Heinen, age 60, on Monday, March 4, 2019, at 1:00 PM at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Fr. Clinton Sensat will officiate. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

(Updated) Officials: La. 182 bridge safe for traffic after tugboat hits it

Authorities say the La. 182 bridge over Berwick Bay sustained no significant damage after a tugboat struck it Tuesday night and is safe for motor vehicle traffic. A tugboat pushing six barges struck the bridge’s west stanchion, according a St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office news release.

Geraldine Hoffpauir Sarver

Funeral services will be held Monday, Feb. 25, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home for Geraldine Hoffpauir Sarver, 89, who died Friday, Feb. 22, 2019, at 7:38 a.m. in Crowley. Rev. Mark Brousssard, chaplain for Lamm Hospice, will officiate for the services.

RAYNE - A Mass of Christian Burial for Vincent William Zaunbrecher, Jr., age 57, of Roberts Cove will be celebrated on Monday, February 25, 2019 at 2:00 PM in St. Leo IV Catholic Church, Roberts Cove. Father Brent Smith will serve as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Leo IV Catholic Cemetery.
