Parish sales tax collections off to strong start in 2019

Sales tax collections were off to a strong start in St. Landry Parish with total parish revenue up 7 percent in January over January 2018’s collections. The St. Landry Parish total in January was $7,019,121, according to statistics released by the St. Landry Parish School Board Sales Tax Division.

Unrestrained Church Point man killed in crash

A single-vehicle crash on La. 35 at Homer Richard Road in St. Landry Parish claimed the life of 25-year-old Darry Carrington of Church Point at about 10 p.m. Feb. 11, according to a news release from Louisiana State Police Troop I.
