The St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office is seeking Justin Miller who is involved in the injury of a narcotic’s detective. Narcotics detectives with the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s office were conducting operations just north of Sunset on the afternoon of May 29.

Man accused of cutting child faces 8 attempted murder charges

Charges have been updated on Patrick Seth Greene, 37, of Opelousas, who was charged with domestic abuse battery with child endangerment, two counts of aggravated assault and resisting an officer, to eight counts of attempted first-degree murder.

Eunice woman charged after shooting in Lawtell

Two subjects were arrested after St. Landry Parish Sheriff deputies responded to a 911 call of a shooting with no location information given from the victim.

Library is looking for your help

Volunteers are needed to help build a Friends of the Library organization. Tony Baltakis, president of the Eunice Library Board of Control, said the Friends organization will be the fundraising group for the library. An organizational meeting is scheduled at 5:30 p.m.

New trash cans placed in Eunice

Keep Eunice Beautiful has received five trash receptacles through a Keep Louisiana Beautiful grant to prevent litter. Eunice was one of 60 organizations receiving a total of 285 receptacles in 37 parishes through the 2024-2025 Keep Louisiana Beautiful Trash Receptacle Grant Program.

The St. Landry Parish School Board selected The Eunice News as its official journal at its meeting Thursday. The action breaks a decades-old tradition of alternating between The Eunice News and The Daily World for its official journal.
